Japan-ALSHARQIYA January 20: Corona examination has become easier than you expect, with a robot that personally pulls the swab from the nose and informs you of the result in less than an hour and a half.
Japanese Health Minister Norihisa Tamura watched a demonstration of the robot model that conducts tests for detection of "Covid 19", and can display results within about 80 minutes, after it uses a robotic arm to take a sample from the nose.
The company, "Kawasaki Heavy Industries," which manufactured the automatic system, said it could be placed in a regular container on a truck and transported to stadiums, amusement parks and other places of gathering.
"Given the global trend, we need to increase the number of people who are undergoing examination and the demand for preventive screening is increasing," Nurihisa told reporters during the presentation.
The government of Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga faces criticism for the lack of checks the country is conducting.
His government is under pressure to assert its control over the pandemic, while only 200 days remain until the start of the Tokyo Summer Olympics.
The vaccination against the Coronavirus vaccine has not started in Japan yet.
Tamura said the use of robotic systems for testing could contribute to preserving the medical workforce as well as increasing accuracy in general.
The robot model presented today uses a human-driven robotic arm to take samples and perform a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay and can perform checks on up to 2,000 samples every 16 hours.
Suga said that his government aims to authorize the first vaccine to prevent "Covid 19", and to start vaccination by the end of February, that is, months after these steps were taken in many other countries.
