Al-Farid Iraqi poet and writer Samaan dies at the age of 93

Baghdad-ALsharqiya, January 5: Iraqi writers and intellectuals mourned the Iraqi writer and poet Alfred Semaan, who died Tuesday in the Jordanian capital Amman at the age of 93 after a career full of creativity and achievements. The unique poet Samaan, who was born in Nineveh province, is a dramatist and jurist who graduated from the Faculty of Law In 1961, he obtained a higher diploma in planning from the United Nations Institute in Damascus in 1971 and published stories, plays and more than twenty poetry collections.
