Brazil sweeps Peru in Copa America

Brazil-ALSHARQIYA  June 18: Brazil continued its perfect start in the Copa America, by sweeping, Thursday, Peru, 4-0 in the second round of Group B competitions, while Colombia failed to achieve its second victory, with a negative draw with Venezuela.

 And the goals of Brazil, which hosts the tournament, were rotated by Alex Sandro, Neymar, Everton Ribeiro, and Richarlison.

This victory is the ninth in a row for the Seleção team, which is at the top of Group B with six points from two matches, while Peru is in the fifth and last place with zero points from one match.

Brazil hit hard in the opening match when it defeated Venezuela with a 3-0 victory, the star of which was the French Paris Saint-Germain playmaker, Neymar, by scoring the second goal from a penalty kick (64),

He scored the third goal, which was scored by Gabriel Barbosa "Gabigol" (89), as he was a corner kick from which his Parisian club colleague Marquinhos opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.

The Brazilians ended the first half of the Peruvian match, leading with a clean goal, scored by Sandro, the Italian Juventus back, in the 13th minute, when he received a cross from Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, and hit it powerfully into the net from inside the penalty area.

In the second half, the samba team waited until the last twenty minutes for the review, and Neymar crowned his effort with a goal, in the 68th minute, with a powerful, far-ground shot that landed in the right corner of the goalkeeper.

Neymar's goal came minutes after the match referee reversed his decision to award a penalty to Brazil, after he resorted to the video assistant referee (VAR) technology.
