France-ALSHARQIYA June 6: Didier Deschamps, coach of the French national team, hinted that he will continue in his position until after the end of his contract after the 2022 World Cup.
Deschamps led the French national team to the final of the 2016 European Nations Cup and winning the World Cup in Russia 2018 during his nine-year tenure with the team.
Deschamps is one of three people to win the World Cup as a player and coach, along with Mario Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer.
Deschamps will go down in history if he succeeds in leading the French national team to the European Championship, when he will become the first person in history to win the World Cup and the European Nations Cup as a player and coach.
Deschamps told RTL on Sunday: "Maybe I will continue beyond 2022 in agreement with my boss, people want me to stay and for that there is a need to achieve results, I will do something else at some point, but I am very successful in my position as a coach."
Deschamps concluded by saying: I have a contract until December 2022, but today I am not thinking of becoming a coach for a club. I am very happy, all the conditions are ripe.
