Election Commission: A request to extend the period for updating the voter register was rejected

Baghdad-ALSHARQIYA  April  16 : The Board of Commissioners in Iraq rejected requests to extend the period for updating the biometric voter register and insisted that April 15, 2021 be considered the last day for updating the voter data.
The Board of Commissioners decided to unify the terms of the two terms of receiving candidate lists and registering political alliances until May 1, in view of the requests submitted by a number of political parties to complete the nomination procedures during the coming days, and to clear the way for a number of other new parties to participate in the electoral process .. and justified The Election Commission did not extend the period of updating the voter register until any extension would allow more changes to occur to the electoral operations schedule.
