Faiq Zaidan: Parties are taking advantage of the vacuum created by the Federal Court

Baghdad-ALsharqiya, September 19: The head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faik Zaidan, warned of the seriousness of the constitutional vacuum after referring a member of the Federal Court to retirement and its decision to cancel Article 3 of Order No. 30 of 2005 ..

Zaidan called in a detailed statement to note the ninety and ninety-first articles of the constitution, considering that the Supreme Judicial Council is the only source for nominating Federal Court judges and managing the affairs of judicial bodies.

The head of the Judicial Council described the situation created by the Federal Court as an anomaly and a flawed matter, saying that this matter opened the way for some political parties to exploit the constitutional vacuum and put forward proposals under the pretext of treating this situation with ideas, most of which constitute a form of violation of the principle of the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law.
