Gunmen assassinate Fatima al-Bahadli's son in Basra

Baghdad-ALsharqiya, July 25: Unidentified gunmen assassinated the young man, Ali Karim, son of human rights activist Fatima al-Bahadli, hours after he was kidnapped in Basra province. Security sources said that the security forces found the body of the young man, Ali Karim, dumped in Zubair district, west of Basra governorate, bearing traces of gunshots. The assassination of the civil activist's son, Fatima al-Bahadli, comes a year after the death of her other son in mysterious circumstances. It is noteworthy that the mother of the victim, Fatima al-Bahadli, is a prominent activist and was honored by Front Line Defenders as the best human rights activist in the Middle East and North Africa for the year 2020. Human rights activist Fatima al-Bahadli bid farewell to the body of her slain son, calling for justice. She deposits the body of her son, Ali Karim, to his final resting place, saying, "Lord of justice, save my children."
