Guterres: Annexing the West Bank would constitute a flagrant violation of international law

New York - ALsharqiya, January 21: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that any total or partial annexation of the West Bank by Israel would be a "flagrant violation of international law," denouncing statements to that effect made by Israeli officials. Guterres added during a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East that he was deeply concerned about the existential threat to the integrity and geographical contiguity of the occupied Palestinian territories in Gaza and the West Bank. The Israeli occupation forces have tightened their military measures at most of the entrances and exits of the governorates in the West Bank.
