Mustafa Al-Kazemi: We seek to replace Exxon with another American company

Washington-ALSHARQIYA    July  27 : Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi expressed his government's desire that another American company replace Exxon Mobil when it leaves Iraq.

Al-Kazemi confirmed to reporters in Washington, after talks with US President Joe Biden, that ExxonMobil is considering leaving Iraq for reasons related to its internal administrative practices and decisions, not because of the situation in Iraq, and when it leaves, Iraq will not accept an alternative but another American company. .

It is noteworthy that ExxonMobil is seeking to sell its 32.7 percent stake in a $53 billion project to increase Iraqi oil production within the West Qurna 1 field in southern Iraq.
