Oil exceeds $70 a barrel, driven by demand expectations ahead of the OPEC meeting

Texas-ALSHARQIYA June 1: Oil prices rose today, Tuesday, before a meeting of the OPEC + alliance, supported by hopes of growth in demand for fuel in the coming months, with the start of the summer driving season in the United States, the largest oil consumer in the world.

 Brent crude futures rose, the world benchmark, to $ 70 and 37 cents a barrel, while the US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose about two dollars to record $ 68 and 38 cents a barrel.
