Taliban release prisoners from Afghan security forces

Afghanistan-ALSHARQIYA  July 22: The Taliban announced the release of dozens of prisoners from the Afghan forces on Eid al-Adha, coinciding with the two parties' agreement to speed up settlement negotiations

And the first Afghan channel reported that 80 prisoners were released in eight provinces after the Taliban announced its intention to release dozens of Afghan soldiers detained by it on the occasion of Eid.

The "Taliban" confirmed that it would not fight during the Eid al-Adha holiday except in self-defense, but it did not announce an official ceasefire

In recent weeks, Afghanistan has witnessed violent confrontations between the government and the "Taliban" movement, which announced its control over large areas of the country, in light of the faltering peace negotiations between the two parties and Washington's progress in withdrawing its forces from Afghanistan.
