The killing of an officer executing the orders of the Integrity Commission in Maysan

Maysan-ALsharqiya June 19: Unidentified gunmen assassinated an officer with the rank of captain in Maysan Governorate. Security sources said that gunmen in a taxi assassinated Captain Mohammed Al-Shamousi near his home in the city of Al-Amarah. The sources indicated that Al-Shamousi was supervising the arrest warrants issued by the Integrity Commission in the governorate to prosecute those accused of corruption. It is noteworthy that last May, another officer with the rank of captain was assassinated in a similar attack, one day after he participated in the arrest of wanted men on corruption charges in the same governorate.
