Dhi Qar - ALsharqiya October 19: a violent armed clan conflict erupted in the Al-Akaika district of Dhi Qar governorate, killing and wounding 11 people, amid the deployment of security forces in the area to prevent a renewal of the conflict. A security source said that a dispute erupted between two clans in which light and medium weapons were used due to a quarrel during a popular football match, killing 4 people and seriously wounding 7 others. The source added that the conflict caused the burning of 8 houses completely, pointing to the heavy security deployment by the Sumer Operations Command and the governorate police to prevent the conflict from recurring, open an investigation and arrest the culprits of the outbreak of the conflict.
